Music
I was born with a melody already soaring through my mind. Emerging from the dismal, grey streets of Salford and Manchester—further back in time than I care to believe—it felt less like a choice and more like a destiny: I was always going to be a musician.
However, this space is dedicated to a different kind of composition. While my career was built on the resonance of the orchestra—as a tuba player and, in my earlier years, a soloist on the euphonium—my musical life has also been shaped by years at the manuals of a church organ and time spent in the classroom. Yet, on this site, the music plays 'second fiddle' to my work as an author.
My focus now lies in the architecture of time, crafting tales that explore the folds and echoes of the years. On this page, I have curated a selection of pieces for your entertainment. You will also find specific musical arrangements paired with my narratives in the ‘Stories’ section, where the two halves of my creative life finally meet.
I invite you to listen, to read, and to step into the clockwork of these stories with me, or simply listen to one or more of the pieces of music below that I have written over the years 👇

This song, or the 2nd version below, will be linked with a story soon to be published as an eBook. An excerpt will be published on this site shortly. Both versions are based loosely on a theme from my earlier orchestral composition from the 1990s called Flying High.
